Saturday: On Saturday Lynn Pomare and six other women members did a loop trip from the Boys' Brigade Camp, Wainuiomata, climbing to 354 on Round Ridge, dropping into Grace's Stream and then on up to Mt McKerrow. Damp cloud near the top by 11.30, but not too wet as lunch was taken at the McKerrow pipe. The return was north-east along the McKerrow track and down to the BBC via the Bivy Track and Scholl Creek. Heavier rain started when we got back to the cars 6 hours later - perfect timing.
Also on Saturday Neil Challands lead a M/F trip to climb Mt Ross in the Aorangi Range from Ruakapatuma road end. 6 members had a lovely sunny morning in regenerating old farmland. We had about an hour of rain about midday. Considering the remoteness the place was crowded with 3 other parties in the area.
The TTC Ski Race was hampered by mist on both days and with the mountain closed on Sunday the 12 members at the Lodge decided to come home without a ski being raced on.
Total 43 members and 1 non members
