Topics to be covered this weekend:
Clothing and equipment
- refer to the gear list. Please note : long pants are no good for river crossings
- your instructor will provide a primus and fuel
- pack your gear in plastic bags (your pack will get wet during the river crossings)
- billies, tents, and club first aid kits should be collected from the Gear Room after the Lecture. You should have your own personal first aid kit for clay to day use
- please note: it is the responsibility of course participants to return club gear to the Gear Room on the Tuesday after the Bush 2 Weekend (billies clean and tents dry, report any damage etc, to the gear room custodian)
Food:
- 1 breakfast, 2 lunches, snacks (scroggin, chocolate, biscuits), tea, coffee, etc, and don't forget your drink bottle
- your group is to share in the organisation of the communal dinner for Saturday night, including enough for your instructor (don’t forget dessert)
- vegetarians discuss this with your group (they may want to enjoy a meatless meal)
General
- if you have any medical problem (e.g. allergies, asthma, diabetes etc,) please tell the organisers before the weekend. This information will be treated as confidential
- for an average weekend tramping trip, your pack should weigh about 12 to 15 kilos
