Tramping Reports Wednesday 2011 Oct 26 to Tuesday 2011 Nov 01
Wednesday: Three members and one non-member enjoyed mainly dry conditions during an off-track trip in the hills between the Atiwhakatu and Waingawa rivers. However rain arrived at about 2pm so we did end up soaked. No major disasters but maps altimeters and compasses were consulted frequently.
There was 11 members on Carol Haigh's BBB to Wrights Hill. Once the rain set in they adjourned for coffee.
6 members joined David Campbell for his trip in Keith George Reserve. They lunched in the dry before the rain set in.
Weekend:
The youth trip to Roaring Stag did not run owing to it being exam time.
There were 2 members and 2 non-members on the Saturday M/F daytrip. From the Catchpool they went up Big Bend spur and down a short spur into the head of the Mukamuka before returning by the Goat Spur track. It was wet in the cloud on the main ridge but fined up nicely in the afternoon.
Michael Bartlett led 9 'club celebrities' and 1 non-member on a route around Belmont RP which included some off track. Nice weather made for a nice day. Total 31 members and 4 non members
