Tuesday is our regular club night
Our hui are held at our centrally-located clubrooms at 4 Moncrieff Street, off Elizabeth Street, in Mount Victoria, and are shared online with members and friends, using Google Meet web conferencing.
We welcome new faces at our hui, and there are always club members available to provide newcomers with information and answer any questions.
Please do not attend club nights if you are unwell.

Peter Clough, his wife Nanette and TTC member Liz Aston explored parts of the 400-year-old Nakasendo Way linking Tōkyō and Kyōto and did country walks on back roads of Japan, sampling cultural and historic attractions along the way.

This new members’ evening is your opportunity to find out about joining the Tararua Tramping Club, our Bushcraft and Alpine courses, our trips, our lodge on Ruapehu - a great base for climbing, skiing, snowboarding and walking, our comfortable hut by the Ōrongorongo river, our gear room free to members, and our library.

16 June Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne Mike Hannah
Zealandia is the world’s first fully fenced urban ecosanctuary. It offers visitors a place to relax and enjoy the many benefits of being in nature. Its presence, so close to the city, has made a significant difference to Wellington’s biodiversity. Today we are one of the few cities in the world where biodiversity is increasing. But that’s only part of the story – Zealandia has a 500-year vision to create a fully operational ecosystem as close as possible to the one that existed prior to the arrival of any humans. Mike Hannah, a retired professor of geology, is a volunteer guide there.

Tour te Waipounamu, an ultra-distance (mountain) bike packing race the length of the South Island, is gaining a reputation as the toughest bike packing event in the world. Darryl competed in the 2026 event. For more, see the April issue of Tararua Tramper, p.3
