Wednesday

E tramp led by Margaret Foden up and down Te Whiti Riser. 7m

The Korokoro tracks were closed, so we decided to do the Te Whiti Riser. By the time all 7 people had arrived the torrential rain had stopped. The track is quite worn in places, making it rocky and muddier. However, we had a sunny lunch at the top before the faster group took the longer way back to the track. My recent motto is "lt's always worth turning up!"

EM trip led by Michele Dickson from Woburn up Leighton Gully to Hayward Reserve. 7m

Most of the 7 members were on their way when the heavens opened. Three were already on the hill above the meeting spot in Woburn, having walked up and down from Lowry Bay. So, the leader had to crack hardy and be optimistic. That paid off as the rain passed by 10.30 or so and it became fine. We ascended Leighton's Gully, descended Spoon Hill Tk on branch 491 and lunched in the sun at the top of a track from Matariki Grove before ascending the Konini Firebreak. The descent back to Woburn was via Haywards Reserve. Some very slippery places were gingerly negotiated.

M tramp led by Wayne Perkins from Tunnel Gully to Mt Climie. 11m

11 members enjoyed a walk through the bush up to the Climie Road. We were lucky to chance upon two relatively windless spots for morning tea and lunch. A big welcome to Andrew on his first TTC tramp. A little under 6 hours.

Sunday

Easy afternoon tramp led by Diana Barnes over the Koromiko track and its extention towards Mt Kaukau. 12

Twelve congenial people came on this trip. After initial climbing we went along the Koromiko Track and then a new track which John Hill was instrumental in building.

Weekend Tramp

M overnight tramp led by Anna Davison to Kime and Hector. 4

Four trampers enjoyed a fine, cool weekend trip up Mount Hector with a sprinkling of snow on the tops. A fire greeted us at Field hut on our arrival after a torchlight walk up after work. A full Kime hut kept us all toasty on Saturday night and we enjoyed gorgeous views and a stunning sunset. Returned in low cloud to start Sunday followed by gorgeous sunshine for our walk out.
