Activity summary: Wednesday 2014 Aug 20 to Tuesday 2014 Aug 26

Wednesday: Marg Pearce reported that all Wednesday groups did a coastal clean-up between Pukerua Bay and Hongoeka Bay in Plimmerton. About 50 bagfuls of rubbish were collected, along with other items that were too big or pointed to go in bags. The weather was rather unkind, with a nasty southerly and showers making conditions chilly and difficult at times, especially for those heading straight in to the southerly later in the afternoon at the Plimmerton end. Fifty members.

Weekend: Russell Cooke ran an overnight trip to Rangiwhahia hut. Saturday afternoon the party headed up to the Whanahuia range but turned back due to the depth of the snow. Sunday morning dawned fine with glorious views across to the volcanic plateau, Mt Taranaki and the Rangitikei hinterland. Four members.

Saturday: Peggy Munn led the Saturday medium trip braving a small gale to walk from Lyell Bay to Evans Bay via Baring Head. It was a great trip viewing sculptures and monuments along the way. Three club members.

Sunday: Vivienne Healey led the Sunday tramp from Woburn to Days Bay having an enjoyable day walking from Woburn to Days Bay. A Good track, muddy in places and cold with occasional bursts of sunshine. Nine club members
