Wednesday: Jenny Lewis led Brenda Neill's trip to Williams Peak, Day’s Bay to the ridge and North to York Bay/Ferry Rd, with 14 members, and 1 non member. (E)
Wayne Griffen's M trip to Manakau area was cancelled due to poor weather and lack of support.
Weekend:
Jude Willis led a trip from Otaki Forks to Penn Creek Hut via Tabletop, and return by the same route. Fine weather, a lovely little hut, and lots of climbing up and down. 6 members (E/M)
Paul Maxim led a Southern Crossing on the original route, Otaki – Walls whare. It was a great trip, weather good. They stopped at Alpha Hut on Saturday and it was chocka. 9 members (M)
Peggy Munn's Tararua Tops – Holdsworth Maungahuka circuit was cancelled due to leader's injury.
Saturday:
On Neil Challands' M/F walk, three members set out to reach the Otaki waterfall. "We made good time along the Waitewaewae track to the Plateau and found a good route to the top of the ridge above the Otaki gorge. The isolated spur down towards the waterfall proved to be an awful mix of pinnacles and 1936 storm damage which forced us to abandon the trip. An awkward route out made for a 10 hour day in the end."
The Titi-Manganui Valley Track M walk was cancelled for lack of a leader.
Sunday:
Michael Bartlet led a circuit of Haywards Reserve. The trip was new to everyone but Michael; 3 hours. E, 4 members.
