Tramping Reports Wednesday 2007 Nov 07 to Tuesday 2007 Nov 13

Wednesday saw two trip into Belmont Farm Park. The medium trip had 13 members while the Easy trip had 15 members and one non-member. Great weather but a nippy wind on the ridge.

The 6 members on the Tongoriro- Oturere-Chateau trip had brilliant weather. They all climbed Ngauruhoe. The Tongoriro circuit was thoroughly congested but things got better once they left the circuit.

The medium/fit trip had 8 members. They climbed Big Bend spur. Fog on the eastern side of the Rimutaka Range prevented them from finding a route into the Mukamuka wich wasn't steep and gnarly. Eventually they retreated and returned via Goat stream spur and the untracked spur to Baines Hut.

Yet another party visited the Belmont area on the Sunday. 10 members and 3 non-members spent 8 hours crossing from Paremata to Jubilee Park, sampling a wide variety of vegetation, wildlife and weather.

The Sunday Skyline cycle trip had 10 members and 1 non-member for a perfect day. They started at a cafe, finished at a cafe, and visited a cafe in between. A perfect day. The family group also had a cycle trip into the Eastern Hutt hills. The 5 members and 2 non-members had some unexpected bush-bashing as the area is currently being logged and the roads are blocked.

A total of 67 members and 7 non-members.
