Tramping Reports Wednesday 2006 Nov 08 to Tuesday 2006 Nov 14
The Wednesday E/M trip had 12 members and 2 non-members. The official trip finished on time but some of the party decided to do something different and ended up getting out at 6 pm.
The family pre-schooler trip to Kaitoke was cancelled because of the weather and 4 families (12 people) did a daytrip and BBQ in the town belt. The other family weekend trip to Powell huthad 6 members. They got very wet and blown about. The heater at the hut was unreliable.
The Saturday medium trip gave up on the intended trip to East Holdsworth and instead went from Kaitoke WW - Brown's track - Dobson - Kiwi Ranch. There was 3 members (all female) in windy and occasionally damp conditions.
The Saturday M/F trip did a loop from Waiotauru roadend to Tent. There was 6 members. They had a long day with the numerous logging roads proving very confusing.
The Saturday cycle trip consisted of 6 members. They went from Waikanae - Reikorangi - Mangaone - returning to Waikanae via an 8 km slog down the beach in soft sand and wind.
Three members had a pleasant Sunday E trip along Cattle Ridge.
Total 48 members and 2 non members
