WEDNESDAY EASY/MEDIUM - KELLY'S TRACK - SUMMIT - BUMP 399

Good weather, but cool breeze after lunch. Everyone enjoyed the new track and the day. (11 members)

MEDIUM/FIT SATURDAY TRIP

Changed to Sunday because of forecast. Into Otaki Gorge, up spur and along ridge to Tangata Maunga, then down to Waitohu Lodge. Very cold, with hail. (5 members)

MEDIUM TRIP - CAMP WAINUI - MT McKERROW

Trip modified because of threat of bad weather. Up Round Track to McKerrow Track then down to Bruce's Track back to base. Six members spent ten minutes searching in vain for a favourite walking stick which disappeared when the owner had a slip (but found the next day by a persistent tramper). (6 members)

MEDIUM - BARBER CREEK - MANGAHAO FLATS HUT

Turned into a day trip because Barber Creek was high. Went a little way up Puketurua Track. Would like to do this trip again. (3 members, 1 non member)

SUNDAY EASY - PENCARROW LAKES

A good day. Went half way around the first lake, before it became too swampy. Old friends were reunited. Coffee at Eastbourne. (12 members, 5 non members)

MEDIUM/FIT - Mt MATTHEWS

Snow above South Saddle. Great views. Interesting footwear worn by one member whose boot lost its sole.

PRE-SCHOOL GROUP - OTARI NATIVE RESERVE

A lovely day. Coincided with Otari Open Day and Plant Sale. Followed the Circular Trail and Red Trail, and had lunch in the Flax Clearing. Everyone enjoyed themselves. (33 members, 12 non members)
