Access
Overnight Parking
Booking is not required and overnight carparks are labelled.
NOTE: You may not be able to get up the road after 6pm if the weather is bad or likely to be bad during the night as DOC will close the Bruce Road. The road status is advised on NZTA traffic website. Also check RAL’s facebook page. If the Top of the Bruce carpark is full, the road will be closed.
Rangitira chair access
Whakapapa Holdings Limited are remarkedly friendly and generous in allowing clubbies to ride the Rangatira. Any foot traffic can load anytime of day as long as there isn't a large group of you. It is possible to take both packs and additional bags or boxes, between 8:45 to 9:00 or 16:00 to 16:15 is preferred. Bulk items require at least 24 hours notice to organise this. As long as you are loading on foot there would be no fee for that trip, if you load with ski or board equipment you need a pass.
