Butterfly Creek/Eastern Hills/Remutaka Pylon Track/Makaka Creek – Cone/Middle Ridge, East Harbour Regional Park

E Trip ‘Butterfly Creek’, led by Liz Martin, Wed 08/04 4M
We were very fortunate that heavy rain stopped just as we started the climb up the ridge from the Bus Barns. A scenic morning tea was held at the ridge's high point, lunch was at the Butterfly Creek picnic area, and we descended via the Kowhai track.
EM Trip ‘Eastern Hills: trails less travelled’, led by Chris Ward, Wed 08/04 7M
Seven hardy rain impervious trampers walked from Point Howard to Mckenzie track above Eastbourne. We walked in some early rain but it wasn't cold. Two lesser tracks were included as was a coffee stop at Tartines and we boarded the bus to get back to the cars.
