Tramping Reports Wednesday 11 February to Tuesday 17 February 2009
Wednesday:
John McIvor led a trip (E/M)- Trelissck, Tinakori, Otari - 9 members and 1 non member. No great views from Tinakori hill! Bill Wheeler and Liz Martin performed well on the high wire!
Kath offer led Fay Barclay's (R) trip in Lees Grove area - great trip. 6 members
John Thomson (M/F) headed into the upper catchment of Frith Stream,down a tributary of the Tauheranikau, on to Smith Creek and up and over to Abbot Creek. 4 members
Saturday:
Ken Fraser led a (M) trip along the Paekakariki Escarpment. Great day. The group made some tunnels throuhg kanuka scrub to ensure progress... returned on the train for Pukerua Bay. 7 members
Family:
On Sunday, John Dement led a group of 35 tubing on the Tauherenikau River. No wind, lots of sunshine and plenty of time to warm up between swims. 27 members and 8 non members.
Sunday:
Malcolm Cunningham led a number of instructors and 25 students on Bushcraft 1. Belmont compass work. 25 non members.
