Percy Scenic Reserve E

Wednesday 10 July 2024

Thirteen enthusiastic trampers gathered in Percy's Reserve carpark for our weekly Easy trip. We headed through the pines above the Dowse Drive roundabout, eventually coming out at the reserve opposite the Maungaraki shops where there were picnic tables in the sun for morning tea and a chat.

Into Percy's Reserve via Barberry Grove, we climbed the Kohekohe Track, some trees still in flower, to Sugarloaf Lookout. This was as high as we got, going back into the bush for lunch. More chats and fungi finding filled the afternoon and we were back in the carpark by just after 2:30 p.m. A very sociable, companionable, considerate group.
