An easy ramble around Zealandia E and R
10th August 2022
Fourteen trampers joined the combined Ramble and Easy trip to Zealandia on a cold, damp day. We had a very good walk, stopping at the kākā feeder for morning tea. Gradually lots of kākā arrived and we saw kākāriki, popokotea (whitehead), and later toutouwai (robins) and tieke (saddlebacks). We saw a group of shags nesting by the lower lake but no takahē or tuatara. More sun needed.
The weather fined up for our lunch stop in a patch of sun at the side of the Round the Lake track.
A walk enjoyed by all. About four hours.
