Titahi Bay, south coast E

5 May 2021

Starting from the south end of Titahi Bay beach, we ascended the cliff track, observing points of historic interest such as the site of the former McArthur Park Seaquarium. On reaching the old track down the cliff face near the wastewater treatment plant, we were faced with a challenge for even the youngest of trampers, due to significant erosion. After that, the trip was reasonably gentle, following the coastline round Kaumunga Point and on to Little Titahi Bay, where we had lunch and then returned using a less challenging (although not without its issues) track up the cliff. The weather was particularly pleasant.
