Tramping Reports Wednesday 2011 Jun 22 to Tuesday 2011 Jun 22

Wednesday:

Kath Kerr ran a Ramble to Red Rocks. There were 3 members, and 8 non members - who reduced the usual average age considerably. Lovely day, no rain or wind. Two members turned back to attend Bob Offer's funeral. Those who made it to Red Rocks reported that the seals were too many to count.

David Ogilvie led a walk Johnston Hill – Makara Peak – Wrights Hill. There were 25 of them(!), 24 members and one non-member. The weather was good, a bit cloudy on the tops. (E/M)

Weekend:

Pip Newton's Kapakapanui trip was postponed until 9-10 July.

Saturday:

Neil Challands led an off-track walk up Mt Wainui from Whareroa Farm. They expected rain but instead had a lovely fine day. After climbing Wainui they completed an off-track loop on spurs in the head of the west branch of the Whakatikei. 4 members.
