Alex Marks
Alex Marks was a member of the Victoria University Tramping Club in the late 1930s. He was a keen photographer and Peter Marks, his son, inherited a collection of his photograph negatives, some of which have been digitised.
Many of the photos came from tramping trips from Wellington and skiing trips to Mt Ruapehu and possibly Taranaki Maunga.
All the people in these photos are unknown to Peter. Peter recently posted the photos below on the Old Photos New Zealand Facebook Group page with the hope that descendants of the some of the people shown might be able to identify them and add the photo to their family’s heritage.
If any TTC member can identify someone in these photos Peter would be pleased for them to take a copy and share it with their family.
Peter would also be pleased if you could advise him of your discovery.
You can email Peter, or update this page with the details (see the How To page for how to edit).
