Recipes Tandoori Chicken

Tandoori Chicken

½ tsp chilli powder 1 tsp pepper 1 tsp salt 2 Tblspns lemon juice 1.5 kg chicken pieces or thighs 3 cloves garlic 4 Tblspns unsweetened yoghurt 5 cm piece of ginger 1 Tblspn corriander seeds 2 tsp cumin seeds 60 gm butter

  • mix chilli powder, pepper, salt, and lemon juice together
  • slash the chicken pieces and rub the mixture into the cuts
  • set aside for at least 1 hour
  • place yoghurt, garlic, ginger, coriander, and cumin in a blender or food processor and work to a paste
  • spread paste all over the chicken pieces
  • leave overnight
  • place chicken pieces on a rack in a roasting pan
  • pour butter over chicken pieces
  • cook in a preheated oven until tender
