Recipes Lasagna


375g packet instant flat sheet lasagna 1 Tblspn oil 2 onions 2 cloves garlic (optional) 900g lean mince small tomato paste (or powder tomato soup) 2 400g tinned tomatoes herbs to taste (eg basil, mixed, thyme, rosemary) 750g grated cheese 1 cup water or red wine

  • sauté onions and garlic and put aside
  • brown mince
  • add onions to mince with herbs, tomatoes, tomato paste and water
  • simmer for 20 minutes
  • preheat oven to 200°
  • grease oven tray lightly
  • place ¾ cup meat sauce into the tray
  • add a layer of ½ lasagna sheets
  • sprinkle with a ⅓ of the cheese
  • add another layer of the meat sauce
  • cover with the remainder of the lasanga sheets
  • sprinkle with the rest of the cheese
  • reduce the oven temperature to 150°C
  • bake for 30 minutes
  • raise oven temperature to 180°C and bake for a further 10 minutes

Serve with green salad
