Comments:
Reduce the effort required to produce the fixture card.
Move to three fixture cards per annum. Many potential leaders are unwilling to commit to leading a trip in eight month's time.
Use the TTC web site to initially advertise trips and seek leaders. Members would prefer to view the whole fixture card options rather than the fixture card committees phoning potential leaders. Phone potential leaders to fill the remaining gaps.
It is not clear what involvement the GC should have with outdoor activities. I had mixed signals in this area and generally felt that the GC was more concerned with admin / finance. The title is outdated. There are committees for various activities such as Wednesday trips. For example I had no involvement with the Wednesday group except fixture card coordination.
There is an increasing number of members who only Ski. It is not uncommon for the Adventure Coordinator to be a non skier. There is little value in a non skiing Adventure Coordinator rubber stamping a skier membership approval.
Functions carried out by the Adventure Coordinator in smaller clubs are shared within the TTC. Tramping organisers managed the week by week activities, sub committees prepare fixture card input, ski lodge operation is run independently and transport is arranged by each leader. In some clubs the Adventure Coordinator is also the tramping organiser and manages the week by week transport arrangement.
